Platform shortlist.
The platform is plumbing, not strategy. Choose any that meets all four criteria, then never think about it again.
The examples below are research starting points based on low cost, broad diversification, automation, and regulatory protection. They are not personal recommendations. Eligibility, fees, tax treatment, investor protection, and product access depend on residence and account type.
- GCC → Research Interactive Brokers and an Ireland-domiciled all-world UCITS ETF such as VWRA
- United Kingdom → Research InvestEngine and VWRP inside an ISA if eligible
- United States → Research Fidelity and either VTI + VXUS or VT
- If you move countries frequently → Research an internationally portable broker and confirm what happens after a change of residence
Then move on. The platform matters far less than consistently funding it.

GCC

Common questions
Account opening — what to expect
-
Documents requiredExpect identity, address, tax-residency, employment, and source-of-funds checks. Required documents and review time vary by provider, residence, and account type.
-
Fund the accountUse a supported funding route from an account in your own name. Transfer methods, charges, currency conversion, and processing times vary; confirm them before sending money.
-
Buy the fundSearch the ticker: VWRA, VWRP, VTI, or VT depending on your region. Buy at market or limit. The exact entry price is irrelevant over a 15-year horizon — the contribution matters more than the price.
-
Set the recurring orderFind the platform's recurring investment or automatic contribution feature. Set it to your A2 sweep date — the 1st of the month. Same fund, same amount. This is the entire ongoing action required from you.
Do not wait for the perfect moment. Opening the account is the hardest step. Funding it is usually automatic afterwards.
